Cafes in Wanaka

Our favourite is Cafe Gusto. Excellent barrista , friendly service, great lunches and yummy cakes. A favourite of the locals.

Relishes Cafe serves dinner as well as all day outdoor dining with great views of the lake and is run by enthusiastic young locals.

Restaurants

One of our favourite restaurants – the Botswana Butchery is located in the Post Office Lane precinct. And its a short walking distance to Cinema Paradiso. Botswana Butchery is a first class dining experience with an interesting menu.

Another great restaurant with views over the lake is Missy’s Kitchen.

The White House Cafe and Bar - a Mediterranean/ Moroccan atmosphere but don’t try and push the tables together– they are nailed to the floor! Good vegetarian dishes as well as an extensive menu. Pleasant outdoor seating in summer, cosy atmosphere in winter with an extensive wine list all available by the glass. A unique Wanaka dining experience.

Bars

A must do is a visit to Post Office Lane where you can enjoy a drink at Bar Luga by the outdoor fire or a game of pool at Woody’s or visit the Cow for a great pizza.

There is a multitude of bars in town – you will not run out of choices!

Uno Bar
A smart bar with lovely views of the lake, and an excellent wine list.

Shopping in Wanaka
